German Hosting and Data Center Provider Hetzner Expands to the US

German hosting and data center firm Hetzner has opened up its first location outside of Europe. The provider now offers cloud services from a colo facility in Ashburn, Northern Virginia.

Hetzner banner

was established in 1997. Over the years, the provider has served its customers with cloud, web hosting, and colocation services. It is one of the largest hosting providers in Europe, with over a hundred thousand servers deployed in its data centers.

Up to date, Hetzner’s clients have been choosing from cloud server locations in Nuremberg and Falkenstein in Germany, and Helsinki in Finland, both of which are environmentally friendly. The company has first crossed the Baltic Sea in 2018 with the first unit opening in their new Data Center Park Helsinki. Now, three years later, they are crossing the Atlantic Ocean as well.

Hetzner has opened up excellent prospects for itself – to play an even more significant role in North America. With the latest expansion, customers can now select Ashburn for most cloud products.

However, the expansion into the US doesn’t include other hosting solutions, such as dedicated servers, colocation, or storage. Furthermore, Hetzner has not built its own data center as it operates in Europe. Instead, it will rely on a colocation facility in Virginia.

The new US location is in the region Data Center Alley, one of the world’s most prominent data center capitals. It will deliver clients the needed strategic location and means for global interconnectivity. North Americans will receive the same low latency and attractive prices as European customers.

The

cloud servers will also feature AMD processors. In turn, customers can use all cloud features and set up the servers in a matter of seconds.

If you establish a server in one of Hetzner’s locations, you will receive a virtual space on a physical machine. You can benefit from significant scalability, meaning you can add, remove resources, scale the performance up or down with ease at all times.
