THC Servers interview cover image

We did a little research before the interview and we found out that your company is on the market since 2013. What were the beginnings of THC Servers?

grew from a team of two and a rented server back in 2013, to having hundreds of servers leased to other customers and a growing team of 24 people, handling customer support around the clock.

We strived from the beginning to provide customers with services that satisfied their needs and went beyond our limits to improve our services in every way. Why? Because each one of us has been on the other end, and we know what we had to face, being customers ourselves.

That’s probably why the company grew fast: we never said no to challenges and we were always open to feedback.

A company to be successful depends on the team behind it. What are the core values that drive your team toward success?

We’re always there for our customers and that’s what we think is the main reason that users choose us – based on feedback. We’ve never actually invested a whole lot in advertising, but we’ve proven ourselves worthy of our customers. Whenever they have issues, we do our best to solve the problems. We act just like we would like to have others act if we ever encountered problems. We listen, evaluate, propose solutions and implement them with the customer’s approval. We’re there for them, and we found that counts a lot!

You have been on the market for more than 7 years now. What were the challenges that you were facing when you were starting the business?

We had to face many challenges when starting the business. The main one was finding people who would join us in this journey. We didn’t want to hire people that just knew. We wanted people who were driven by passion and were avid consumers of tech. We wanted to build a Team, not a company.

Sure, there were also some challenges when starting a data center: learning how to act upon everything and as we expanded and accumulated so much information in such a short time.

But, in the end, we learned that the only challenge we have to face is customer satisfaction. Everything is driven from there.

What are the main products and services of THC Servers?

offers a wide variety of products that range from shared web hosting to reseller hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and even SEO and design.

We mentioned at the beginning that one of the most important things for customers is the speed of their website. How THC Servers handle this part?

One thing we always mention to our customers when it comes to speed is that even though our servers are built for speed, if your website is not optimized or you’re choosing the wrong package, then it will underperform. For example, if you have a website built in WordPress and you’re choosing a shared hosting plan, you’re missing out on all the extra resources that those dedicated WordPress plans have.

We also have a part of our servers hosted in a data center with a 100GBps internet line. We can also offer dedicated internet lines to our customers that have dedicated servers.

So, if we’re talking about speed, we’d say we’ve got that covered!

Also, what use of speed if people cannot find a certain website. What kind of SEO tools is THC Servers offering to its customers?

Besides the basic SEO and metrics tools that come with every panel, we also offer the option to purchase plans that are dedicated to that. We collaborate with SEO agencies that have proven to provide great results for our customers. Just choose your keywords and you’ll see results in no time!

What about security and backup? Can you tell us a bit more about how you handle this part?

Sure! We have backups running every day for all our shared and reseller hosting plans. That’s because we understand how important information is and how frustrating it can be to lose it. It can be an unwanted change you made or a file that was deleted by accident: we get it! We can restore the files you need, anytime!

As for security, our servers run with firewalls installed and are always up to date. We’ve also recently partnered with a company that offers full-stack server protection for hosting providers. Botnets, web attacks, brute force, DoS, or backdoors are not an issue on our servers. All the files are scanned in real-time and any obfuscated malware upload attempt is detected. Plus, we’ve given our customers the option to add this software to their dedicated services, as an addon.

We cannot skip the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. How this pandemic has affected your business?

It has indeed been a major issue facing this pandemic. First of all, we had to be sure all the Team was taken care of and that we did not have any problems health-wise. This was a challenge we all had to face and we had to change our working habits a bit.

As for the customer’s point of view, we still have several requests every month to postpone the service invoicing, due to Covid-19 issues. While we do help everyone get past this, we have had some customers that could not renew their services at all.

Looking at this globally, the pandemic has affected all businesses in a way. We’re actually one of the ones that are lucky enough to still stand.

Now with the vaccine, what do you think will happen with the hosting industry when the pandemic is officially over?

As with every industry, it will regain its strength and will move forward. But it actually depends on each individual. We all have to give a helping hand in order to have things back to how they were before.

We also noticed that you have an affiliate program. Can you tell us a bit more about that?

We have an active affiliate program where anyone can register. You can earn up to 35% commission on each sale and renewal of service. As opposed to some companies that offer a fix payout per customer, we have recurring commissions. That means that you will get paid whenever the referrals renew their services.

Once you reach a $100 USD threshold, you are eligible for a payout. Currently, we only provide payouts via PayPal, so each affiliate is paid at the beginning of the month, for the month before.

We are almost in the middle of 2021. What are your plans for the rest of the year?

We’re still working on migrating our customers to servers that have been upgraded and offering them the best hosting experience so far.

Also, we’re working on opening a new data center in The Netherlands, soon, that will be home to new dedicated and shared servers.

Finally, is there anything else you would like to share with the hosting community?

We would like to let everyone from the hosting community that we appreciate them all and we’re always admiring them for the problems they face and the solutions they come up with. They inspire us to become better! Thank you!
