What is the history behind Niagahoster? When did it all start?
was established in 2013. Though the business idea came up long before that. As part of International, we are aware of the big market potential in Indonesia. We launch Niagahoster business with local management with the hope of a better understanding of market needs and providing premium solutions with the best quality.
What are the main core values of Niagahoster? What is the most important thing that drives the company and the people behind it toward success?
We have a lot of faith in websites to help businesses and individuals reach their potential in the digital world. We live by our main core (one of our 10 values) which is customer obsession. Living this value means we always work backward starting from the needs of our customers. Everything we work on, the solutions we offer, and all the initiatives we provide are based on a thorough understanding of our customers. We have our customers as our ultimate inspiration and validation for our work. By putting them first, we hope people will put their faith in us as their online presence solution.
What we value as part of our service to the customers goes beyond the business aspects such as products and features. We also make sure that our customers have the insights they need to make their website beneficial and profitable. This value is part of our vision and mission. We envisioned that in the future, everyone in Indonesia will have a beneficial and profitable website, and we make it our mission to provide them with the best tools to learn, create and grow.
We also believe success cannot be achieved alone. Our team is part of the fuel to drive our values. We make sure that we always attract the best talents and create the environment and culture that enable them to learn, increase their self capabilities and dare to do the experiment or innovation needed in such a dynamic industry. Every company has its difficulties and challenges at the beginning. What were yours?
As a small bootstrapped company filled with all the newbies in the industry, our biggest challenge at the beginning was our own limited knowledge. In 2013, when we first started, other Indonesian companies in this industry were still applying conservative management and had not yet applied any potential digital marketing effort. We need to do our own homework, widen our knowledge by learning from the practitioners abroad, and do experiments that we barely know whether will work or not in the Indonesian market. By doing a lot of experiments, trials, and errors, and being bold in doing innovation, we reaped the benefit for Niagahoster’s growth.
What are the main products and services of ?
Our main services are web hosting that supports various types of resources and needs. We provide unlimited hosting, cloud hosting, virtual private server (VPS), domains, email hosting, WordPress Hosting, Managed WordPress, and reseller platform (with white label feature and no deposit needed). As previously mentioned, we provide beyond the IT resources. We also aid our customers with educational materials in various types and media such as blog articles, ebooks, webinars, intensive classes with mentors, online conferences, courses, and website building services. Apart from the website building services, all initiatives we provide for free for anyone to join.
We noticed that you are operating in Indonesia. Are there other markets that you are operating at the moment? Are you planning to focus on other markets in the future, and if yes, which ones and why?
Indonesia has one of the largest market potentials in Southeast Asia. We believe there is still a lot that can be done here. The awareness of digital transformation has been rising for the past few years, we do not want to miss the opportunity to help more people in Indonesia to reaching online success. We want to focus on delivering our vision and mission. We do not have plans to reach other markets in the short future. We will focus on innovating our products and services based on Indonesia’s market needs. Through innovation, we are hoping to develop a wider market in Indonesia.
What about customers who understand a lot and are very careful to ask about speed and backup. How are you handling these customers and how are you handling the speed, security, and backup?
We will handle them with the same empathy we are delivering to our customers with less knowledge in technology. With customers who have more knowledge, it is easier for us to tell them more about technical issues and how to handle them because when it comes to customers with less knowledge in technology, it is quite difficult for them to understand the steps that need to be taken.
We make sure that we are keeping up with the latest technology in security, speed, and backup, not for the sake of the trends, but for our customers’ best interest. We always apply the latest technology in those three aspects to our own service and see if it helps us to provide better products and services. When the result is positive, we will gladly share the best practice with our customers. If we are hoping they will trust their online solution to us, we have to prove to them that we provide the best at an affordable price.
We live in a changing period and we are seeing new methods of payments, like for example Bitcoin. How do you think that this paying method will change the hosting industry? Are you planning to introduce this paying method to your customers if you haven’t done that already?
We are committed to staying up to date with technology development in the digital world. Providing many alternative payment options for our customers’ comfort of using our products and services. However, we are still obliged to obey the local government rules towards every allowed and normal transaction process. We are looking forward to the rules where the new payment method is available for us and our customers to apply.
What about the new technologies connected with the hosting industry? What is your opinion about this and are you seeing any new technologies on the market in the near future?
We will see WordPress domination escalate in the coming years. Not just WordPress as in a CMS but also the whole ecosystem supporting it. In terms of website technology, we are seeing the usage of Headless CMS will be in trend in the near future. Also, the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the hosting industry will be inevitable, be it in the customer end or enhanced technology infrastructure. In the end, we have to understand that the customer will still need a fast, reliable, and cheap hosting solution. So, it’s all about how to combine all the new technologies in the future to support such a solution for the customers.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We are aiming to be known not only as of the web hosting provider but also as the one-stop online presence solution. We are hoping not only to be known by the small niche in the market but also to introduce the online presence solution to a wider market.
In the end, is there anything else that you would like to share with the hosting industry?
Although the awareness about website and hosting needs are mostly happening in the developed countries, the big potential will grow in the developing countries, like most Asian countries. Though awareness and competitive price will be crucial in business success, customers nowadays are much smarter consumers in choosing the brand that provides the best solution for them. We want to be by their side supporting them with IT resources and knowledge that they need to achieve success. They want providers that can be partnered with them to achieve online success. And every hosting provider has to make sure to keep up with whatever the customers need for online success using websites.
