Server Mania is a hosting company that offers primarily higher end hosting solutions. They don’t have any shared hosting options, so if you are just starting a small personal or small business site this is not likely the company for you. For VPS and dedicated and cloud servers, however, they do have a nice selection. The company has facilities in New York, California, Illinois and Georgia to ensure they can meet the needs of customers throughout North America.
They were founded in 2002 and while their servers are in the United States, the company itself is based in Toronto, Canada. Overall they do an excellent job at providing high quality hosting that is fast and stable at all levels. If you run a busy site or business, this company can almost certainly meet your needs.
Uptime & Reliability
Stable Hosting
You will get your site hosted in a state-of-the-art data center that has fully redundant network connections and power supplies. They also work with a data center management team that responds to outages and issues within 15 minutes, which is quite impressive. I didn’t see a set uptime guarantee, but when looking at what customers are saying about this service, none are complaining about outages. This means that people rarely, if ever, experience any type of downtime, which is exactly what you want from a hosting provider.
Features
Lots of Very Nice Features
As you would expect from a company that focuses on higher end hosting solutions, you will have access to plenty of nice features with this company. First, their VPS solutions are fast and affordable. They have solid state drives in them, which helps make them faster and more stable. The entry level VPS comes with 4 gigs of RAM, 150 GB RAID storage and 4 TB of bandwidth. As you move up from there you can get up to 8 gigs of RAM, 200 gigs of storage and 8 TB of bandwidth. You can choose from any of their hosting options to be run with Linux, Windows or cached Linux.
The dedicated servers they have are fairly nice and can be configured and deployed within an hour. They all come with 10 TB of bandwidth each month. The 3.4 GHz CPU cores are fast and can handle a significant amount of traffic. Depending on the package you choose you will get either 8 or 16 gigs of RAM. While these are not the highest end servers on the market, they will be great for most busy sites.
If you want a cloud server you will be able to build it yourself for maximum flexibility. This is a great way to go with cloud services and lets you get everything you need and nothing you don’t. The configuration process is fast and easy too so you don’t need to worry about it even if you don’t have a lot of technical experience.
You can also get DDoS protection through this company, which is very nice.
Support
Very Responsive Tech Support
The tech support teams are very responsive and will be working on your issue within 15 minutes of it being reported, which is very fast. They are also friendly so that you can feel comfortable working with them. There is a nice blog on their site with some useful information too, which is very nice.
Pricing
Very Competitive Pricing
The pricing with this company is very competitive. This is nice for a company that is focused on non-shared solutions. The dedicated servers for example, range from $49 to $699 per month, with plenty of nice options at the lower end of this spectrum. This is an excellent way to get the power and control you need without having to pay extremely high prices.
VPS solutions are $10, $15 or $20 per month for the main options, and you can move up to higher level options for up to $60 per month, which is still reasonable for what you are getting. While not the absolute lowest prices I have ever seen, they are offering some great deals for very nice hosting services.
Summary
Very Nice Hosting Option
This is a great hosting provider if you need VPS, dedicated or cloud hosting solutions. They don’t offer shared hosting options, which means entry level sites will want to find another provider. If you need mid to high level hosting, this is a good company to consider. They have great customer service and support teams as well to ensure you are satisfied with the experience.
