With many options to choose from, I’d personally recommend FlokiNET’s ‘Romania VPS III’ plan if you’re just getting started with VPS hosting. Starting at $27.49/month, you’ll get 90 GB SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited sites you can host.
TipTip: FlokiNET’s VPS plans are ideal for businesses or websites that are beginning to expand, but require more protection and privacy. Free speech websites usually experience a lot of traffic and attention, if this is you, then this host’s VPS plan is what you need.

I personally recommend FlokiNET’s HP Proliant DL 360 Gen10 10xNVMe SSD plan if you’re just getting started with dedicated hosting. It comes packed with 960 SSD storage, 32 TB committed bandwidth, and 96 GB RAM all for $485.28 per month.
TipTip: FlokiNET’s dedicated hosting plans are ideal for websites that get a lot of traffic but still feel vulnerable to attacks. Businesses that also handle sensitive data – e.g: customer payment methods, whistle-blower platforms, etc.
Features
Anonymous signup( no personal data required) only a valid e-mail address.
SSD storage
Free migration assistance within the same control panel.
DDoS/firewall protection(Romania only)
SSH access.
Automatic SSL certificates for all hosted domains.
Softaculous app installer.
FlokiNET comes loaded with a lot of great features, but its unique selling point has to be its ability to offer highly protected, anonymous, and incorruptible hosting plans to a unique set of clients.
You’ll find cheaper hosting offers out there, but none with the unique set of tools and features, dedicated to maintaining anonymity and protection for its customers.
Performance
The performance of a host is a critical factor you need to consider when choosing one, it is the thin line between gaining or losing customers. 3 key performance metrics are important for a website, speed, uptime, and average load times.
Speed measures how quickly the servers respond to the queries of a visitor on your website. The faster the speed, the longer the visitor might stay on the website.
Uptime measures the time your host’s servers remain online. 99.9% uptime has become an industry standard and anything short of that is unacceptable.
Load time measures how fast your website gets up to speed. The quicker the pages load and function, the better. Google recommends a fully loaded time of 1-2 seconds for the best results.
I’ve saved you the stress by carrying out a performance test on GTMetrix. I ran FlokiNET’s domain through the tool, but to get better results, it is advisable to test a website hosted by the provider you want to engage.
Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t find any hosted websites on FlokiNET which is a testament to their famed anonymity and privacy.
My test yielded these results:
FlokiNET.is had a slow response time of 928 ms and an overall performance rating of 63% on GTMetrix which if we’re being honest, isn’t impressive.
The shortcomings in the overall performance and response time might be a result of the web design and web structure. There’s still room for improvement especially for the unique hosting plans they offer.
Level Of Support
They say support is the live wire of every website and FlokiNET promises support 24/7/365 via
Live chat
I tried several times to activate the chat box but it kept referring me to a ticket. It might be a one-off, but it’s safe to say Live chat Is not a reliable support channel on FlokiNET.
Phone support
FlokiNET offers phone support via its contact lines. You can either call or have an encrypted conversation with them on Signal and Threema.
Email
FlokiNET offers support via email with a quick response time
Ticket
FlokiNET also offers support via tickets, you get to fill in your name, email, phone number, and the issue you want to resolve. An agent will get assigned to your case so a solution can be found.
Knowledgebase
FlokiNET has a rich knowledgebase equipped with a built-in search engine to give you a library of answers to whatever questions you may have about their packages, FAQs, and getting-started guides.
User-Friendliness
You might be wondering how difficult it is to get started with FlokiNET. Is it easy to set up basic tools and apps? Let’s find out!
Registration
Getting started on FlokiNET is easy, all you need to do is pay for one of their plans, fill in the details and you’re in.
Let’s use one of their shared plans as an example. First click on ‘Hosting’ on the top part of the homepage and select ‘ shared hosting’. This takes you to the different shared hosting plans, then you click ‘Order now’.
Next, you get to choose if you want to register a new domain, transfer your domain from another registrar, or use your existing domain and update nameservers. Fill in the domain name and click ‘continue’.
* FlokiNET does not offer free domain names, so registering a new one will cost you a small fee.
You then get directed to a page where you can configure the plan you’re about to purchase, from your billing cycle to the server location. They offer monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, biennial, and triennial billing cycles.
Click ‘continue’ which will direct you to the checkout page.
Once there, you’ll be asked to create an account and choose your preferred payment method. Confirm your details in an email sent to you and your account is ready!
FlokiNET Control Panel
Now that you’re an account holder, FlokiNET gives you access to your dashboard, and from there you can manage your account easily. The cPanel gives you control over your domains, databases, and other relevant functions.
Installing WordPress on FlokiNET
Although FlokiNET doesn’t offer WordPress hosting plans, it uses Softaculous to automatically install WordPress and other apps and plugins you want.
Add an email account with Flokinet
FlokiNET does not give the option to add email to your domain on the cPanel, maybe it is reserved for paying customers.
Conclusion: Do We Recommend FlokiNET?
FlokiNET is definitely not the biggest or best host out there, largely because of its business model and unique clients. It was created to be a safe haven for freedom of speech, free press, and whistle-blower projects. I wasn’t impressed with its lack of WordPress, Cloud, and Reseller hosting plans, but I guess it’s because they are big on anonymity and secrecy.
So do I recommend them to you? It all depends on what you’re trying to achieve. If you want a host that guarantees your security while you freely express yourself, then FlokiNET is a good fit. If not, you’re better off checking other alternatives that’ll perfectly fit your business model.
Customer for +3 years at Flokinet, excellent support, after having tried multiple hosting sites, it was Flokinet who knew how to conquer me, I recommend to all people wishing to join a hosting with unique ethics and respect
Worst experience in years of hosting, slow support, poor value, constant firewall issues, most of the time unusable
I really wanted to like Floki and read several websites about their service. I had been with 1and1 for over 20 years, GoDaddy and a small US host. I use a password manager RoboForm so almost never enter a password manually. I never had a problem with the other hosting companies. With Floki A. While they don't offer a real migration service they said they would transfer the Cpanel install from the old host to the new. I had bought a domain and website and they moved everything, not just the one domain. everything from the people who I purchased from. That started one big problem. It took at leas 2 weeks to migrate the domain so the first 2 weeks were a wasted of money as nothing worked due to this issue. Once the website data and all the other sites not belonging to me were move over I was told I was over the limit for space and data. But then again I did not want everything moved. So we had to remove what we deemed not ours and it barely fit in their 4gb package. Then the problem seemed to be if you logged onto Cpanel more than 5 times in an hour the firewall would block you. This meant minimum 24 hours to sometimes several days of being blocked till the would unblock you. I never had this problem before and was not entering 5 different passwords. It would work then while I was logged on block me. I kept asking support to unblock us and what was the problem. The same response some cut and paste from their records such as Failed cPanel login from 1**.2**.231.**: 5 in the last 3600 secs - Sat Nov 14 03:39:00 2020
While I understand what they think the problem is, I did not try to log in 5 times in the last hour. I think that limit is way too low anyway. But the point is if I'm locked out more than allowed to access my site it's a useless service.
Compared to the other hosts I've used, prices are high and the service and value are low, I was locked out more than logged in Support was very slow like they did not care You're basically on your own with this host as far a getting help or support so make sure you don't need support.
I can't recommend them and am looking for another host that offers great service and is offshore
we are sorry to hear you faced such problems. Please always open a ticket or send us an email if you need support, our ticketsupport is 24/7/365 for you available and we are happy to help.
Your account transfer: We do migrated your account from your old webhoster towards us as requested. This was a full account copy however after the transfer you requested to remove certain websites from your account as you reached the storage limit with your account. As we have mentioned in the ticket clearly upfront we do perform only full account transfer, if you want to delete certain websites after this is up to you.
Blocked from login: Our Firewall blocks you if you fail for a certain amount of times to login. This is to avoid your account getting hacked by brutforce. This can only happen by entering wrong logindata, so you might included a space or something related (or used old logindata) Only your IP gets blocked (not your account) so you can simply get a new IP (VPN, Tor, router reboot) and this will solve your problem. There is also an unblock function within the support center so you can unblock your IP yourself at any time.
However if you keep using wrong logindata you will get keeping blocked. We can also set the limit higher, still you will get blocked for failed logins.
Two problems you did not mentioned in your post but you might refer to beeing unhappy with our service:
- Your failure to use FTP was a result of not using any TLS/SSL connection as we do not allow cleartext connections for security reasons. This is also shown as error message in your FTP software. We are aware that many webhoster do allow cleartext login however for your own security we do not allow so as otherwise your data can be intercepted. - your first logins all failed as you used domain to connect to which is not hosted with us
Again, if you need any help just open a ticket and let us know about the problems you have and we will assist you.
From your response and other response I think part of the problem is communication in English is not 100% which I understand I am not hosting in a native English speaking country.
My frustration and reason for posting to a complaint site is because I don't think my support tickets were always treated promptly or with a solution.
I've never had problems with previous hosts in using FTP. I asked for correct credentials for FTP because the ones in Cpanel did not seem to work. I would have accepted to receive the correct settings from support but I did not get that. I got "looks good must be your password". The password was checked many times and still did not work.
As far as being blocked I understood from the start why a firewall blocks attempts. The problem I had was I was able to log in the first time but then while logged on and already working in cpanel I would be blocked while in Cpanel. I'm not sure why this happens. I already figured out the use of a VPN to get past the block.
No one at any point nor was it clear there was a "self unblock" feature or where it is? That should have been made clear the first time I was blocked
I guess my disappointment is things did not go smoothly as with several other hosts over the years. I was also used to 24 hour 7 days a week support where anytime I could reach support and get help.
In this case it seemed from response support only worked for 8 hours Iceland time which is not when I'm awake or working. Plus it appeared weekends there was no support.
Back to the FTP settings I was told by support if I need help to ask and I asked what are the exact settings I need to make and they were not provided.
Finally If my problems got resolved the first time I would not being asking again and again the same questions.
I just want to be able to FTP and not have the restrictions. I asked several times to increase the possible login errors and it was ignored. Yet you say now it can be changed.
Nothing to complain, everything work as intended :). Great uptime, great speed, great company philosophy. The only (really small) thing is that the support is sometimes a bit "rude" and "cold" but nothing out the ordinary.
Thank you for your review and your opinion on our support team! Our goal is to always improve our services and get better by each day and that's only possible with the help of honest reviews like yours.
Flokinet a good choice for who want Privacy and Freedom Speech
If you are searching for freedom speech Hosting, this is the ideal Hosting for you. Flokinet protects your privacy and doesn't sell without a valid court order, that is good to protect your identity and data. Flokinet also provide another services such like Anti-DDoS, VOIP, Teamspeak and Offshore Servers in Offshore countries like Finland and Iceland that is perfect, and they sell domain with Whois Privacy.
Flokinet is very good to protect your privacy, good hosting for who search for Real Offshore Hosting, Flokinet is a good choice. Unfortunately the price is expensive, but that's the price you need to pay to have quality, security, privacy and support.
These guys are definitely NOT DMCA Ignored hosting, we've hosted with them and they asked us to move away from their servers only with a few take down services emails. Avoid if looking for DMCA ignored hosting
- Requests that brought us to request your website's removal were not a DMCA, since we do not operate under American Jurisdiction.
- Those were not few, they get close to 100.
- That topic you replied to was not regarding DMCA, but clearly privacy and freedom of speech, which has no connection with DMCA. So I am not sure why you replied here, but you are free do to so.
- You are clearly aware that your website is breaking someone else's lawful copyrights. This valid court order with shutdown request has strong basis on the law under the jurisdiction we operate under.
First you say you’re not aware of this post, now you’re the one posting a reply which was the same email I received from you a moment ago. Anyone looking for a good decent hosting company please avoid this company at all costs!
Tom, Where did you end up hosting your site? I was looking for offshore in Iceland but it appears Orange does not respond to any questions period so decided to go with Floki and while they eventually respond it was nothing like 24/7/364. I got rarely a response on weekends and there was a 12 hour delay during the week since it appears they're on the other side of the world. I wanted to much to like them
We have analyzed your order and ticket and apparently our system failed completely to show your order as pending in our provisioning system.
We are deeply sorry for this mistake and inconvenience that we caused. We are not scammers, our company exists for more than 7 years and we have thousands of clients, doing our best to deliver quality service, but errors happen.
Aware that this happened 1 year ago, we know that we cant easily compensate you for that but we have contacted you, maybe we can fix this.
Thank you for your feedback, our sincere apologies.
I have been with FlokiNET for a year or so and I have had no issues. Everything runs smoothly and my sites are up 100% of the time. Much cheaper and more reliable than other hosting companies i have used in the past. I would highly recommend!
I have hosting with them and it has been down for more than a week. I have never heard of a web host down for more than this. I lost many sales. It is very odd how it takes more than 1 week to do a data migration. They have continuously brushed me off when I ask them for a proper fix. I have attached a screenshot of proof.
No. FlokiNET does not offer a money-back guarantee, they don’t have a refund policy, and also does not offer free trials. So before paying for a plan, carefully choose the right plan that fits your business.
Can I get a free domain with FlokiNET?
